स्थिरलिंगश्न यन्नित्यं तस्मात्‌ स्थाणुरिति स्मृत: । ये ऊर्ध्वभागमें स्थित होकर देहधारियोंके प्राणोंका नाश करते हैं। सदा स्थिर रहते हैं और जिनका लिंग-विग्रह सदा स्थिर रहता है। इसलिये ये 'स्थाणु” कहलाते हैं

Transliteration

sthiraliṅgaś ca yan nityaṁ tasmāt sthāṇur iti smṛtaḥ |

Translation

വായു പറഞ്ഞു—ആരുടെ ലിംഗചിഹ്നം നിത്യവും അചലവും സ്ഥിരവുമായിരിക്കുന്നു, അതിനാൽ അവൻ ‘സ്ഥാണു’ എന്ന നാമത്തിൽ സ്മരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു—അചഞ്ചലൻ, സ്ഥിരൻ.
