Educational Q&A

The verse highlights an extraordinary, atypical temperament—sudden laughter and sudden weeping—suggesting a nature not easily measured by ordinary social norms. Ethically, it cautions against judging exceptional persons by common expectations and points to the complexity of inner states that may arise from destiny, divine influence, or uncommon constitution.

Vāyu is describing a remarkable individual whose emotional expressions shift abruptly—laughing and then crying without visible cause—and adds that no one on earth was his equal among those of the same age, emphasizing his uniqueness and unmatched stature.
