ते ययु: शरणं विप्रानूचुस्ते कान् जयामहे । इत्युक्तास्ते द्विजान् प्राहुर्जयतेह कपानिति
Transliteration
te yayuḥ śaraṇaṃ viprān ūcuś te kān jayāmahe | ity uktās te dvijān prāhur jayateha kapān iti ||
Translation
ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ദേവന്മാർ ബ്രാഹ്മണരുടെ ശരണം തേടി ചോദിച്ചു: “ഞങ്ങൾ ആരെയാണു ജയിക്കേണ്ടത്?” ബ്രാഹ്മണർ അങ്ങനെ ചോദിച്ചതോടെ ദേവന്മാർ പറഞ്ഞു: “ഇവിടെ ‘കപ’ എന്ന പേരുള്ള ദാനവരെ ജയിക്കുവിൻ.”
