एतैश्वान्यैश्व बहुभिग्ुणैर्युक्तान्‌ कर्थं कपान्‌ | विजेष्यथ निवर्तथ्व॑ निवृत्तानां सुखं हि व:

Transliteration

etaiś cānyaiś ca bahubhir guṇair yuktān kathaṃ kapān | vijeṣyatha nivartadhvaṃ nivṛttānāṃ sukhaṃ hi vaḥ ||

Translation

ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഇവയും മറ്റു അനേകം ഗുണങ്ങളും ഉള്ള ‘കപ’ എന്ന ദാനവരെ നിങ്ങൾ എങ്ങനെ ജയിക്കും? ഈ അനഭിലഷണീയമായ ശ്രമത്തിൽ നിന്ന് പിന്മാറുക; കാരണം സംയമത്തിലും വിരമിപ്പിലും തന്നെയാണ് നിങ്ങളുടെ യഥാർത്ഥ ക്ഷേമവും സുഖവും.
