त॑ ममानुग्रहकृते दातुमर्हस्यनिन्दित । अनुशासन्तु मां सनन््तो मिथ्योद्वृत्तं त्वदाश्रयम्
taṁ mamānugrahakṛte dātum arhasy anindita | anuśāsantu māṁ santaḥ mithyodvṛttaṁ tvadāśrayam ||
ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു—“ഹേ അനിന്ദ്യനേ! എനിക്കു അനുകമ്പ കാണിക്കുവാൻ ഈ വരം നൽകുക നിനക്കു യുക്തമാണ്. ഞാൻ ഒരിക്കലെങ്കിലും നിന്റെ ആശ്രയം സ്വീകരിച്ചിട്ടും അസത്യവും വികൃതവുമായ പെരുമാറ്റത്തിലേക്ക് വഴുതിപ്പോയാൽ, സജ്ജനർ എന്നെ ഉപദേശിച്ച് തിരുത്തി സന്മാർഗത്തിലേക്ക് കൊണ്ടുവരട്ടെ.”
