गवां मध्ये तु पठतो गावो<स्य बहुवत्सला: । प्रस्थाने वा प्रवासे वा सर्वावस्थां गत: पठेत्
gavāṁ madhye tu paṭhato gāvo ’sya bahuvatsalāḥ | prasthāne vā pravāse vā sarvāvasthāṁ gataḥ paṭhet |
ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു—പശുക്കളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ ഇത് ജപിക്കുന്നവനോടു പശുക്കളുടെ വാത്സല്യം വളരെ വർധിക്കുന്നു. അതിനാൽ പുറപ്പെടുന്ന സമയത്തായാലും പ്രവാസത്തിലായാലും—ഏത് അവസ്ഥയിലായാലും—മനുഷ്യൻ ഇതിനെ ജപിക്കണം.
