सनात्‌ सनातनतम:ः कपिल: कपिरप्यय: । स्वस्तिद: स्वस्तिकृत्‌ स्वस्ति स्वस्तिभुक्‌ स्वस्तिदक्षिण:

sanāt sanātanatamaḥ kapilaḥ kapir apyayaḥ | svastidaḥ svastikṛt svasti svastibhuk svastidakṣiṇaḥ ||

ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു—അവൻ അനാദി; എല്ലാറ്റിലും ഏറ്റവും പ്രാചീനൻ; അവൻ കപിലനും കപിയും; സർവ്വജഗത്തും അവസാനം ലയിക്കുന്ന പരമ അപ്യയസ്ഥാനം അവൻ തന്നേ. അവൻ മംഗളക്ഷേമം നൽകുന്നവൻ, ശരണാഗതരുടെ ക്ഷേമം വരുത്തുന്നവൻ; അവൻ തന്നെ ക്ഷേമസ്വരൂപൻ; ഭക്തരുടെ പരമഹിതം കാക്കുന്നവൻ; ക്ഷേമം നൽകുന്നതിൽ സമർത്ഥനും ശീഘ്രഫലദായകനുമാണ്।
