Adhyāya 142: Cyavana, the Devas’ Arrogance, and Vāyu’s Counsel on Protecting Brāhmaṇas
अवर्षति च पर्जन्ये सर्वभूतानि देवराट् । वसिष्ठो जीवयामास येन यातो$क्षयां गतिम्
avarṣati ca parjanye sarvabhūtāni devarāṭ | vasiṣṭho jīvayāmāsa yena yāto 'kṣayāṃ gatim ||
ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു— മഴ പെയ്യാതിരുന്നപ്പോൾ സർവ്വജീവികളും ദുരിതപ്പെട്ടു; അപ്പോൾ മുനിവരൻ വസിഷ്ഠൻ അവർക്കു ജീവൻ പകർന്നു രക്ഷിച്ചു; ആ പുണ്യഫലമായി അദ്ദേഹം അക്ഷയഗതിയെ പ്രാപിച്ചു।
