Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
शूरं बलवतां श्रेष्ठ कान्तरूपमकल्मषम् | आत्मतुल्यं मम सुतं प्रयच्छाच्युत माचिरम्,“अच्युत! आप मुझे अपने ही समान शूरवीर, बलवानोंमें श्रेष्ठ तथा कमनीय रूप- सौन्दर्यसे युक्त निष्पाप पुत्र प्रदान कीजिये। इसमें विलम्ब नहीं होना चाहिये
śūraṃ balavatāṃ śreṣṭhaṃ kāntarūpam akalmaṣam | ātmatulyaṃ mama sutaṃ prayacchācyuta māciram ||
ഹേ അച്യുതാ! താമസമില്ലാതെ എനിക്ക് എന്നോടു തുല്യനായ ഒരു പുത്രനെ പ്രസാദിക്കണമേ—വീരനായും, ബലവാന്മാരിൽ ശ്രേഷ്ഠനായും, രൂപസൗന്ദര്യത്തിൽ മനോഹരനായും, കളങ്കരഹിതനായും ഇരിക്കട്ടെ. ഇതിൽ വൈകൽ പാടില്ല.
