अस्माकं परितोषश्न अक्षय: परिकीरत्त्यते | इस तरह निष्कपट भावसे किया हुआ दान अक्षय एवं महान् फलदायक होता है और उससे हमें भी अक्षय संतोष प्राप्त होता है--ऐसा शास्त्रका कथन है ।।
śakra uvāca | asmākaṃ paritoṣaś ca akṣayaḥ parikīrtyate | śraddadhānāś ca ye martyā āhariṣyanti santatim ||
ശക്രൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഞങ്ങളുടെ തൃപ്തിയും അക്ഷയമാണെന്ന് പ്രസിദ്ധമാണ്. അതുകൊണ്ട് കപടമില്ലാത്ത ശുദ്ധഹൃദയത്തോടെ ചെയ്ത ദാനം അക്ഷയമായി മഹാഫലം നൽകുന്നു; അതിലൂടെ ഞങ്ങൾക്കും അനന്തസന്തോഷം ലഭിക്കുന്നു—ഇതാണ് ശാസ്ത്രവചനം. ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ ദാനം ചെയ്യുന്ന മർത്ത്യർ ദീർഘകാലം നിലനിൽക്കുന്ന സന്തതിപരമ്പര നേടും.
