Sāma (Sāntva) and Dāna: The Brāhmaṇa’s Conciliatory Release from a Rākṣasa
ब्राह्मणश्रैन्न विन्देत श्रुतवृत्तोपसंहित: । प्रतिग्रहीता दानस्य मोघं स्थात् धनिनां धनम्
brāhmaṇaḥ śraiḥ na vindeta śrutavṛttopasaṃhitaḥ | pratigrahītā dānasya moghaṃ syāt dhanināṃ dhanam ||
വിദ്യയും സദാചാരവും സമ്പന്നനായ ബ്രാഹ്മണൻ—ദാനം സ്വീകരിക്കാനുള്ള പ്രധാന അർഹൻ—ആശ്രയം ലഭിക്കാതെ പോയാൽ, ധനികരുടെ ധനം വ്യർത്ഥമാകും; കാരണം ദാനം യഥാർത്ഥ പാത്രത്തെ എത്തുന്നില്ല।
