Kīṭopākhyāna: Prajā-pālana as Kṣatra-vrata and the Attainment of Brāhmaṇya

अहिंस्नरस्य तपो$क्षय्यमहिंसत्रो यजते सदा । अहिंस्र: सर्वभूतानां यथा माता यथा पिता

ahiṁsā-narasya tapo 'kṣayyam ahiṁsā-tro yajate sadā | ahiṁsraḥ sarva-bhūtānāṁ yathā mātā yathā pitā ||

ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു—അഹിംസയിൽ നിഷ്ഠനായവന്റെ തപസ് അക്ഷയമാണ്; അഹിംസാവ്രതൻ സദാ യജ്ഞഫലം പ്രാപിക്കുന്നു. അഹിംസകൻ സർവ്വഭൂതങ്ങൾക്കു മാതാവുപോലെയും പിതാവുപോലെയും ആകുന്നു.
