Kīṭopākhyāna: Prajā-pālana as Kṣatra-vrata and the Attainment of Brāhmaṇya

सर्वयज्ञेषु वा दानं॑ सर्वतीर्थेषु वा55प्लुतम्‌ । सर्वदानफलं वापि नैतत्तुल्यमहिंसया

sarvayajñeṣu vā dānaṁ sarvatīrtheṣu vā plutam | sarvadānaphalaṁ vāpi naitat tulyam ahiṁsayā ||

ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു—എല്ലാ യജ്ഞങ്ങളിലും നൽകുന്ന ദാനം, എല്ലാ തീർത്ഥങ്ങളിലും ചെയ്യുന്ന സ്നാനം, എല്ലാ ദാനങ്ങളുടെയും സമസ്ത ഫലം—ഇവയെല്ലാം കൂട്ടിയാലും അഹിംസയ്‌ക്ക് തുല്യമാകില്ല.
