Ahiṃsā as Threefold Restraint (Mind–Speech–Action) and the Ethics of Consumption

सूकरो जातमात्रस्तु रोगेण प्रियते नूप । श्वा ततो जायते मूढ: कर्मणा तेन पार्थिव,नरेश्वर! सूअरकी योनिमें जन्म लेते ही वह रोगसे मर जाता है। पृथ्वीनाथ! तत्पश्चात्‌ वह मूढ़ जीव उसी पाप-कर्मके कारण कुत्ता होता है

sūkaro jātamātras tu rogeṇa mriyate nṛpa | śvā tato jāyate mūḍhaḥ karmaṇā tena pārthiva ||

നരേശ്വരാ! പന്നിയുടെ യോനിയിൽ ജനിച്ച ഉടനെ അവൻ രോഗം മൂലം മരിക്കുന്നു. ഭൂനാഥാ! അതേ പാപകർമ്മം കൊണ്ടു പിന്നെ ആ മോഹിതജീവി നായയായി ജനിക്കുന്നു.
