Educational Q&A

Dharma yields an auspicious and radiant फल (result): the verse expresses the reward of righteous conduct through the image of a pure, sun-bright dwelling, suggesting that ethical living culminates in elevated, luminous states of existence.

Bhīṣma continues his instruction in Anuśāsana Parva, describing the splendid, orderly ‘mansion’ one attains—symbolically or as a heavenly reward—characterized by four āvartanāni (courts/turnings) and twelve lotus-like features.
