नरेश्वर! ब्राह्मणोंकी पूजा, देवताओंको नमस्कार और गुरुजनोंको प्रणाम स्नानके बाद ही करने चाहिये ।।
Nareśvara! brāhmaṇānāṁ pūjā, devatānāṁ namaskāraḥ, gurujanānāṁ praṇāmaś ca snānād eva kartavyaḥ. Animantrito na gacchet yajñaṁ gacchet darśakaḥ. Anarcite hānāyuṣyaṁ gamanaṁ tatra, Bhārata.
ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ നരേശ്വരാ! ബ്രാഹ്മണപൂജയും ദേവപ്രണാമവും ഗുരുവൃദ്ധന്മാർക്ക് പ്രണാമവും കുളിച്ച ശേഷം മാത്രമേ ചെയ്യാവൂ. ക്ഷണമില്ലാതെ എവിടെയും പോകരുത്; എന്നാൽ യജ്ഞം കാണാൻ ദർശകനായി ക്ഷണമില്ലാതെയും പോകാം. ഹേ ഭാരതാ! ആദരം ലഭിക്കാത്ത സ്ഥലത്തേക്ക് പോകുന്നത് ആയുസ്സ് കുറയ്ക്കുന്നു.
