Āloka-dāna (Dīpa-dāna), Sumanas–Dhūpa–Dīpa Phala: Manu–Suvarṇa and Śukra–Bali Exempla

द्विविधो हि स्मृतो गन्ध इष्टोडनिष्ट श्व पुष्पज: । इष्टगन्धानि देवानां पुष्पाणीति विभावय

dvividho hi smṛto gandha iṣṭo 'niṣṭaś ca puṣpajaḥ | iṣṭagandhāni devānāṁ puṣpāṇīti vibhāvaya ||

ശുക്രൻ പറഞ്ഞു—പുഷ്പങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നുയരുന്ന ഗന്ധം രണ്ടുവിധമെന്നു സ്മരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു: ഇഷ്ടം (പ്രിയം) എന്നും അനിഷ്ടം (അപ്രിയം) എന്നും. ഇത് നന്നായി മനസ്സിലാക്കുക—ഇഷ്ടഗന്ധമുള്ള സുഗന്ധപുഷ്പങ്ങൾ ദേവതകൾക്ക് പ്രിയമാണ്.
