निर्मोक्षस्त्वस्य दोषस्य मया कार्या यथा तथा । मृत्योरपि न दोष: स्यादिति मे<त्र प्रयोजनम्‌,परंतु मेरे ऊपर जो दोष लगाया गया है, उसका निवारण तो मुझे जैसे-तैसे करना ही है। मेरे कहनेका यह प्रयोजन नहीं है कि मृत्युका भी दोष सिद्ध हो जाय

nirmokṣas tv asya doṣasya mayā kāryā yathā tathā | mṛtyor api na doṣaḥ syād iti me 'tra prayojanam ||

സർപ്പം പറഞ്ഞു— എന്റെ മേൽ ചുമത്തപ്പെട്ട കുറ്റാരോപണത്തിൽ നിന്ന് എങ്ങനെയായാലും ഞാൻ മോചിതനാകണം. എന്റെ വാക്കുകളുടെ ലക്ഷ്യം മരണത്തെയും കുറ്റക്കാരനാക്കുക എന്നല്ല.
