आदि पर्व (अध्याय 26) — गरुडस्य वालखिल्य-रक्षणम्, कश्यपोपदेशः, देवोत्पात-प्रसङ्गः
मेघानाज्ञापयामास वर्षध्वममृतं शुभम् । ते मेघा मुमुचुस्तोयं प्रभूतं विद्युदुज्ज्वला:
meghān ājñāpayāmāsa varṣadhvam amṛtaṃ śubham | te meghā mumucus toyaṃ prabhūtaṃ vidyud-ujjvalāḥ ||
അദ്ദേഹം മേഘങ്ങളെ ആജ്ഞാപിച്ചു—“അമൃതസമമായ ശുഭജലം വർഷിക്കുവിൻ.” ആജ്ഞ ലഭിച്ച മിന്നലാൽ ദീപ്തമായ മേഘങ്ങൾ ധാരാളം ജലം ചൊരിഞ്ഞു।
पितामह उवाच
The verse highlights the auspicious power of rightful authority and elder wisdom: when exercised for welfare, command aligns nature itself toward protection and nourishment, symbolized by life-giving rain.
Pitāmaha issues an order to the clouds to rain beneficial, nectar-like water; the lightning-bright clouds comply and pour down abundant rain.
