तस्य पूर्व शिरो ग्रस्तं पुच्छमस्य निगीर्य च । निगीर्यमाणा साक्रामत् सुतं नागी मुमुक्षया
tasya pūrvaṃ śiro grastaṃ puccham asya nigīrya ca | nigīryamāṇā sākramat sutaṃ nāgī mumukṣayā ||
വൈശമ്പായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു— അവൾ ആദ്യം അവന്റെ തല വിഴുങ്ങി; പിന്നെ വാലും വിഴുങ്ങി. വിഴുങ്ങിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കെ തന്നെ, പുത്രനെ രക്ഷിക്കുവാൻ ആഗ്രഹിച്ച നാഗി ഒഴിഞ്ഞുമാറാൻ നീങ്ങിത്തുടങ്ങി.
