प्रयच्छति वधे तुभ्यं तेन जीवसि दुर्मते । नन्वद्य त्वां सहामात्यं सकर्णानुजसौबलम्
prayacchati vadhe tubhyaṃ tena jīvasi durmate | nanv adya tvāṃ sahāmātyaṃ sakarṇānujasaubalam ||
നിന്റെ വധത്തിന് അവൻ അനുവാദം നൽകാത്തതിനാലാണ്, ഹേ ദുർമതേ, നീ ജീവിക്കുന്നത്. അല്ലായിരുന്നാൽ ഇന്നുതന്നെ ഞാൻ നിന്നെ—അമാത്യന്മാരോടും, കർണനോടും, നിന്റെ ഇളയ സഹോദരനോടും, ശകുനിയോടും കൂടി—യമലോകത്തിലേക്ക് അയയ്ക്കുമായിരുന്നു.
