वैशम्पायन उवाच पाण्डुरुत्थाय सहसा गन्तुकामो महर्षिभि: । स्वर्गपारं तितीर्ष: स शतशूज्रादुदड्मुख:
Vaiśampāyana uvāca: Pāṇḍur utthāya sahasā gantukāmo maharṣibhiḥ | svargapāraṃ titīrṣaḥ sa śataśṛṅgād udanmukhaḥ ||
വൈശമ്പായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു—“രാജാവേ! ഇത് കേട്ടപ്പോൾ മഹർഷികളോടൊപ്പം പോകുവാൻ ആകാംക്ഷയോടെ മഹാരാജാവ് പാണ്ഡു പെട്ടെന്ന് എഴുന്നേറ്റു. സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിന്റെ അപ്പുറം കടക്കണമെന്ന മോഹം അവന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ ഉണർന്നു; ഉത്തരമുഖമായി ശതശൃംഗപർവ്വതത്തിൽ നിന്ന് അവൻ പുറപ്പെട്ടു.”
