ततः स मृगयामास वने तस्मिंस्तपोधन: । नाध्यगच्छच्च मृगयंस्तां गां मुनिरुदारधी:,तब तपोधन वसिष्ठजी उस वनमें गायकी खोज करने लगे; परंतु खोजनेपर भी वे उदारबुद्धि महर्षि उस गायको न पा सके
tataḥ sa mṛgayāmāsa vane tasmiṃs tapodhanaḥ | nādhyagacchac ca mṛgayan tāṃ gāṃ munir udāradhīḥ ||
അപ്പോൾ തപോധനനായ ആ മുനി ആ വനത്തിൽ പശുവിനെ തേടിത്തുടങ്ങി; എങ്കിലും തിരഞ്ഞിട്ടും ഉദാരബുദ്ധിയുള്ള ആ ഋഷിക്ക് ആ പശുവിനെ കണ്ടെത്താനായില്ല.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the dharmic temperament of an ascetic: when faced with loss, he persists in rightful effort without slipping into agitation or wrongdoing, embodying steadiness, patience, and self-restraint.
Vaiśaṃpāyana narrates that the ascetic sage searches through the forest for a particular cow, but despite continued effort he is unable to locate it.
