FAQs

This verse situates Shiva-bhakti culture within a dharmic human world by tracing recognized lineages and peoples; the Purana frames Linga-worship as practiced and preserved through orderly vamśa (dynastic continuity) and social Dharma.

Indirectly, it reflects Shiva as Pati—the Lord who upholds Dharma across generations—by showing how the manifest world of pashus (souls in society) proceeds through orderly succession, providing the field in which liberation through Shiva’s grace and right conduct becomes possible.

No specific puja-vidhi or Pashupata Yoga limb is stated; the takeaway is the dharmic foundation—stable lineage and righteous fame—that supports Vedic rites and later Shiva-Linga installation and worship described elsewhere in the Purva-Bhaga.
