देवादिसृष्टिकथनम् (वसिष्ठशोकः, पराशरजन्म, एकलिङ्गपूजा, रुद्रदर्शनम्)

शाक्तेय उवाच अम्ब मङ्गलविभूषणैर् विना देहयष्टिरनघे न शोभते वक्तुमर्हसि तवाद्य कारणं चन्द्रबिंबरहितेव शर्वरी

śākteya uvāca amba maṅgalavibhūṣaṇair vinā dehayaṣṭiranaghe na śobhate vaktumarhasi tavādya kāraṇaṃ candrabiṃbarahiteva śarvarī

ശാക്തേയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—അമ്മേ, അനഘേ! മംഗളവിഭൂഷണങ്ങളില്ലാതെ നിന്റെ സുകുമാര ദേഹലത ശോഭിക്കുന്നില്ല. ഇന്ന് നിന്റെ ഈ നിലയുടെ കാരണം പറയുക; നീ ചന്ദ്രബിംബമില്ലാത്ത രാത്രിപോലെ തോന്നുന്നു।
