Shloka 42

भुवनकोशस्वभाववर्णनम् — सप्तद्वीप-पर्वत-लोकविन्यासः तथा यक्ष-उमा-प्रकाशः

जनलोको महर्लोकात् तथा कोटिद्वयं द्विजाः जनलोकात्तपोलोकश् चतस्रः कोटयो मतः

janaloko maharlokāt tathā koṭidvayaṃ dvijāḥ janalokāttapolokaś catasraḥ koṭayo mataḥ

ഹേ ദ്വിജന്മാരേ, മഹർലോകത്തിന് അപ്പുറം ജനലോകം രണ്ട് കോടി ദൂരത്തിൽ സ്ഥിതിചെയ്യുന്നു. ജനലോകത്തിൽ നിന്ന് തപോലോകം വരെ ദൂരം നാല് കോടി എന്നു കരുതപ്പെടുന്നു.
