hiraṇmayātparaṃ cāpi śṛṅgī caiva kuruḥ smṛtaḥ dhanuḥsaṃsthe tu vijñeye dve varṣe dakṣiṇottare
Suta Goswami
It situates the devotee’s worship within Shiva’s ordered cosmos: the world is not random but structured by dharma and ṛta under Pati (Shiva), so Linga-puja becomes a way of aligning the pashu (soul) with that divine order.
Indirectly, by presenting a coherent cosmic arrangement, it reflects Shiva-tattva as Pati—the supreme regulator whose śakti sustains differentiation (regions/varṣas) while remaining transcendent to them.
No specific rite is prescribed in this verse; the takeaway is contemplative (dhyāna) use of sacred cosmography—meditating on the ordered universe as Shiva’s manifestation, a supportive frame for Shaiva sādhanā and Pashupata discipline.
