सूत्रे नमः शिवायेति छन्दांसि परमे शुभे मन्त्राणि सूक्ष्मरूपेण संस्थितानि यतस्ततः

sūtre namaḥ śivāyeti chandāṃsi parame śubhe mantrāṇi sūkṣmarūpeṇa saṃsthitāni yatastataḥ

‘നമഃ ശിവായ’ എന്ന മന്ത്രസൂത്രത്തിൽ പരമ മംഗളതത്ത്വത്തിൽ വേദഛന്ദസ്സുകൾ സ്ഥാപിതമാണ്; മന്ത്രങ്ങൾ സൂക്ഷ്മരൂപത്തിൽ സർവ്വത്ര, സർവ്വദിക്കുകളിൽ നിന്നുമുയർന്ന് വ്യാപിച്ചു നിലകൊള്ളുന്നു।
