FAQs

Indirectly: it grounds spiritual knowledge in an authoritative lineage—Brahmā → Vāyu → sages—implying that teachings on Ātman and dharma are preserved through a sanctified transmission rather than personal invention.

No specific yoga technique is taught in this verse; instead it highlights the sattra setting—disciplined, vow-based ritual and study—an environment traditionally supportive of śravaṇa (listening), manana (reflection), and later yogic integration as taught elsewhere in the Kurma Purana (including Pāśupata-oriented themes).

It does not name Śiva or Viṣṇu directly; however, by emphasizing Brahmā’s authoritative speech preserved by Vāyu among sages, it supports the Kurma Purana’s broader non-sectarian method where shared revelation undergirds Shaiva–Vaishnava synthesis.
