दन्तो ऽलूखलिनस्त्वन्ये ह्यश्मकुट्टास्तथा परे / शाकपर्णाशिनः केचित् संप्रक्षाला मरीचिपाः

danto 'lūkhalinastvanye hyaśmakuṭṭāstathā pare / śākaparṇāśinaḥ kecit saṃprakṣālā marīcipāḥ

ചിലർ പല്ലുകൊണ്ട് മാത്രം ചവച്ചുകൊണ്ട് ജീവിക്കുന്നു, ചിലർ ഉലക്കയിൽ ഇടിച്ച്; മറ്റുചിലർ കല്ലുകൊണ്ട് അരച്ച്. ചിലർ ശാകവും ഇലകളും ഭക്ഷിക്കുന്നു, ചിലർ നന്നായി കഴുകി ഭക്ഷിക്കുന്നു, ചിലർ സൂര്യകിരണങ്ങളെ മാത്രം പാനം ചെയ്ത് കഠിനതപസ്സിൽ നിലകൊള്ളുന്നു।
