FAQs

This verse is primarily a dharma-vidhi injunction about correct homa procedure; it implies that disciplined action (karma) performed with proper authorization and purity supports inner purification, which later becomes conducive to realizing the Self in the Kurma Purana’s broader teaching.

No direct meditation technique is stated; the practice emphasized is ritual discipline—asking permission, offering with ghee, and wearing the upavīta correctly—reflecting preparatory ethical-ritual purity that the Purana often treats as supportive to higher yoga (including Pāśupata-oriented sādhanā in later sections).

This specific verse does not explicitly mention Shiva or Vishnu; it presents Vaidika yajña-dharma centered on Agni, a shared orthodox framework within which the Kurma Purana later articulates Shaiva–Vaishnava synthesis and non-sectarian devotion.
