FAQs

Indirectly: it grounds spiritual life in dharma by defining who deserves guru-like reverence; such reverence purifies conduct and supports eligibility for higher knowledge of Ātman taught by the true vidyā-guru.

No technique is prescribed here; it establishes the ethical foundation—guru-sevā and reverence to those who sustain life and transmit vidyā—which the Kurma Purana treats as a prerequisite for disciplined Yoga (including Pāśupata-oriented devotion and restraint).

It does not mention Shiva–Vishnu explicitly; its synthesis is practical: honoring the teacher of vidyā and the dharmic supports of life aligns with the Purana’s broader aim of integrating devotion, right conduct, and liberating knowledge across Shaiva–Vaishnava streams.
