Sūta (narrator) recounting Purāṇic genealogy in a sage-assembly
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
This verse is genealogical and geographic, focusing on lineage and rulership; it does not directly teach Ātman-doctrine, but it supports the Purāṇic framework in which dharmic kingship and ordered creation are narrated as part of Īśvara’s cosmic arrangement.
No explicit Yoga practice is taught in this verse. Its relevance is contextual: the Kurma Purana places such dynastic and cosmographic accounts alongside later spiritual instruction (including Pāśupata-oriented teachings and the Īśvara-gītā sections), showing dharma in society as the ground for higher sādhana.
It does not explicitly mention Śiva or Viṣṇu. Indirectly, it belongs to the Kurma Purana’s broader narrative world where cosmography and dynasties are ultimately situated within a unified, Īśvara-centered order compatible with the text’s Śaiva–Vaiṣṇava synthesis.
