FAQs

This verse is genealogical rather than metaphysical; it supports the Purāṇic view that cosmic order (dharma) is transmitted through sanctioned lineages, within which later teachings on Atman and Īśvara are preserved and taught.

No explicit yoga practice is taught in this shloka; its function is to situate later spiritual instruction by establishing the rishi-line (paramparā) through which dharma, mantra, and śāstra—including later Kurma Purana yoga teachings—are traditionally conveyed.

It does not directly address Śiva–Viṣṇu theology; indirectly, it contributes to the shared Purāṇic framework where both Vaiṣṇava and Śaiva teachings are rooted in the same rishi genealogies and authoritative transmission.
