ഗരുഡൻ പറഞ്ഞു— ഹേ ഭഗവൻ, ദേവദേവേശ്വരാ! പരമകരുണയാൽ എനിക്ക് ദാനത്തിന്റെ സ്വരൂപവും ദാനമാഹാത്മ്യവും, കൂടാതെ വൈതരണിയുടെ പ്രാമാണിക വിവരണവും അരുളിച്ചെയ്യണമേ.
