य एतं परमं गुह्यमितिहासमघापहम् । शृणुयाच्छ्रद्धया युक्तो यश्च भक्त्यानुकीर्तयेत् ॥ ४७ ॥ न वै स नरकं याति नेक्षितो यमकिङ्करै: । यद्यप्यमङ्गलो मर्त्यो विष्णुलोके महीयते ॥ ४८ ॥
ya etaṁ paramaṁ guhyam itihāsam aghāpaham śṛṇuyāc chraddhayā yukto yaś ca bhaktyānukīrtayet
ഈ പരമഗുഹ്യമായ ഇതിഹാസം പാപനാശകമാണ്. ആരെങ്കിലും ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ ഇത് കേൾക്കുകയും ഭക്തിയോടെ അനുകീർത്തനം ചെയ്യുകയും ചെയ്താൽ, അവൻ നരകത്തിലേക്ക് പോകുകയില്ല; യമകിങ്കരന്മാർ അവനെ കാണാനുപോലും സമീപിക്കില്ല. ദേഹത്യാഗത്തിന് ശേഷം അവൻ വിഷ്ണുലോകത്തിൽ മഹത്വത്തോടെ ആദരിക്കപ്പെടുകയും പൂജിക്കപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യും.
