Puṁsavana / Viṣṇu-vrata: Worship of Lakṣmī-Nārāyaṇa for Auspicious Progeny and Fortune
haviḥ-śeṣaṁ ca juhuyād anale dvādaśāhutī oṁ namo bhagavate mahā-puruṣāya mahāvibhūti-pataye svāheti
This verse instructs that the remaining havis should be offered into the fire as twelve oblations while repeatedly chanting obeisances to the Supreme Lord (Mahāpuruṣa), acknowledging Him as the master of all divine opulences, with the offering call “svāhā.”
He is outlining the regulated procedure of a Viṣṇu-centered vow (vrata), where ritual acts like āhuti are performed as devotional worship—directing the practitioner’s faith and results toward Bhagavān rather than toward mere ritualism.
Even without formal fire rituals, one can apply the essence by offering one’s actions as an offering to the Supreme Lord—repeating His names/mantras with humility and remembering that all power and prosperity ultimately belong to Him.
