Vṛtrāsura Rebukes Indra; Heroic Combat and the Asura’s Pure Devotional Prayers
विलोक्य तं वज्रधरोऽत्यमर्षित: स्वशत्रवेऽभिद्रवते महागदाम् । चिक्षेप तामापततीं सुदु:सहां जग्राह वामेन करेण लीलया ॥ ९ ॥
vilokya taṁ vajra-dharo ’tyamarṣitaḥ sva-śatrave ’bhidravate mahā-gadām cikṣepa tām āpatatīṁ suduḥsahāṁ jagrāha vāmena kareṇa līlayā
വൃത്രാസുരന്റെ ആ ഭാവം കണ്ട വജ്രധാരി ഇന്ദ്രൻ അത്യന്തം ക്രോധിച്ചു, പ്രതിരോധിക്കാൻ അതിദുഷ്കരമായ മഹാഗദയെ ശത്രുവിനോട് എറിഞ്ഞു. എന്നാൽ പറന്നുവന്ന ആ ഗദയെ വൃത്രാസുരൻ ഇടങ്കൈകൊണ്ട് ലീലാപോലെ പിടിച്ചു.
