The Six Dvīpas Beyond Jambūdvīpa and the Cosmic Boundary of Lokāloka
आकल्पमेवं वेषं गत एष भगवानात्मयोगमायया विरचितविविधलोकयात्रागोपीयायेत्यर्थ: ॥ ४१ ॥
ākalpam evaṁ veṣaṁ gata eṣa bhagavān ātma-yogamāyayā viracita-vividha-loka-yātrā-gopīyāyety arthaḥ.
ഭഗവാൻ തന്റെ ആത്മയോഗമായയാൽ ഇത്തരത്തിലുള്ള വേഷവും രൂപവും കല്പകാലം മുഴുവൻ ധരിക്കുന്നു; വിവിധ ലോകങ്ങളുടെ നടത്തിപ്പെന്ന ലീല ഗോപ്യമായി നിലനിൽക്കാനും ലോകസ്ഥിതി നിലനിർത്താനും എന്നതാണ് അർത്ഥം.
In Bhagavad-gītā (4.6) Lord Kṛṣṇa says, sambhavāmy ātma-māyayā: “I appear by My internal potency.” The word ātma-māyā refers to the Lord’s personal potency, yoga-māyā. After creating both the material world and spiritual world through yoga-māyā, the Supreme Personality of Godhead personally maintains them by expanding Himself in different categories as the Viṣṇu mūrtis and the demigods. He maintains the material creation from beginning to end, and He personally maintains the spiritual world.
This verse states that the Lord, by His own yogamāyā, assumes a form and arranges the workings of the many worlds, keeping the divine arrangement concealed from ordinary perception.
In the cosmological narration to Mahārāja Parīkṣit, Śukadeva explains that the Lord’s chosen manifestation and arrangement endure for the span of a kalpa so universal operations proceed in an ordered way.
It encourages humility and devotion—seeing that behind complex systems and outcomes there is a higher governance—leading one to cultivate faith, responsibility, and remembrance of Bhagavān.
