निवेदितोऽथाङ्गिरसा सोमं निर्भर्त्स्य विश्वकृत् । तारां स्वभर्त्रे प्रायच्छदन्तर्वत्नीमवैत् पति: ॥ ८ ॥
nivedito ’thāṅgirasā somaṁ nirbhartsya viśva-kṛt tārāṁ sva-bhartre prāyacchad antarvatnīm avait patiḥ
അംഗിരസൻ മുഴുവൻ സംഭവവും സൃഷ്ടികർത്താവായ ബ്രഹ്മാവിനെ അറിയിച്ചപ്പോൾ, ബ്രഹ്മാവ് സോമനെ (ചന്ദ്രദേവനെ) കടുപ്പമായി ശാസിച്ചു. തുടർന്ന് ബ്രഹ്മാവ് താരയെ അവളുടെ ഭർത്താവായ ബൃഹസ്പതിക്കു കൈമാറി; അപ്പോൾ ഭർത്താവ് അവൾ ഗർഭിണിയാണെന്ന് തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞു.
