Nimi Questions the Yogendras: Varṇāśrama’s Purpose, Ritualism’s Fall, and Yuga-Avatāras with Kali-yuga Saṅkīrtana

Nārada Muni related to Kṛṣṇa’s father, Vasudeva, the story of the enlightenment of King Nimi. Now Nārada reveals that Vasudeva himself will also achieve the supreme perfection of life by practicing the same principles spoken long ago by the nine Yogendras. Actually, Vasudeva was already a personal associate of the Supreme Lord, but due to his natural humility as a great devotee, he was determined to perfect his love of Kṛṣṇa. Thus we can observe the exalted status of the parents of the Supreme Personality of Godhead.
This verse says that by sincerely adopting bhāgavata-dharma with faith (śraddhā) and living without material attachment (niḥsaṅga), one reaches the supreme destination (param).
Nārada is instructing Vasudeva that hearing is not enough—by practicing the devotional principles he has heard, with faith and detachment, Vasudeva will attain the highest spiritual goal.
Commit to daily devotional practice with steady trust in the process, and reduce habits and associations that intensify material craving—keeping life centered on service, remembrance, and simplicity.
