Arjuna Marries Subhadrā; Kṛṣṇa Honors Two Devotees in Mithilā (Śrutadeva and Bahulāśva)
nyamantrayetāṁ dāśārham ātithyena saha dvijaiḥ maithilaḥ śrutadevaś ca yugapat saṁhatāñjalī
This verse shows exemplary atithi-seva: devotees and brāhmaṇas respectfully invite Kṛṣṇa to accept hospitality, teaching that honoring guests—especially the Lord and His devotees—is a sacred act of dharma and bhakti.
Both were devoted hosts eager to serve Kṛṣṇa; the verse highlights their equal reverence and humility—standing with folded hands—each desiring the fortune of personally receiving the Lord.
Practice respectful hospitality: welcome guests with sincerity, honor saints and spiritually minded people, and see service (seva) as devotion—offering one’s home, time, and care in a humble mood.
