Pauṇḍraka’s False Vāsudeva Claim, His Death, and the Burning of Vārāṇasī by Sudarśana

अक्षै: सभायां क्रीडन्तं भगवन्तं भयातुरा: । त्राहि त्राहि त्रिलोकेश वह्ने: प्रदहत: पुरम् ॥ ३६ ॥

akṣaiḥ sabhāyāṁ krīḍantaṁ bhagavantaṁ bhayāturāḥ trāhi trāhi tri-lokeśa vahneḥ pradahataḥ puram

ഭയാകുലരായ ജനങ്ങൾ സഭയിൽ പാശക്രീഡയിൽ ലീനനായ ഭഗവാനെ കണ്ടു വിളിച്ചു—“രക്ഷിക്കണേ, രക്ഷിക്കണേ, ത്രിലോകേശാ! ഈ അഗ്നി നഗരത്തെ ദഹിപ്പിക്കുന്നു!”

This verse shows the citizens turning to Kṛṣṇa as “Trilokeśa,” begging protection as fire consumes the city—illustrating that devotees instinctively take shelter of Him in crisis and He is the ultimate protector.
