तदापतद् वै त्रिशिखं गरुत्मते हरि: शराभ्यामभिनत्त्रिधोजसा । मुखेषु तं चापि शरैरताडयत् तस्मै गदां सोऽपि रुषा व्यमुञ्चत ॥ ९ ॥
tadāpatad vai tri-śikhaṁ garutmate hariḥ śarābhyām abhinat tridhojasā mukheṣu taṁ cāpi śarair atāḍayat tasmai gadāṁ so ’pi ruṣā vyamuñcata
അപ്പോൾ ഗരുഡന് നേരെ പാഞ്ഞുവന്ന തൃശൂലത്തെ ഭഗവാൻ ഹരി രണ്ട് അമ്പുകൾ കൊണ്ട് മൂന്ന് കഷ്ണങ്ങളായി തകർത്തു. തുടർന്ന് ഭഗവാൻ മുരന്റെ മുഖങ്ങളിൽ അമ്പുകൾ എയ്തു, കോപാകുലനായ അസുരൻ ഭഗവാന് നേരെ തന്റെ ഗദ എറിഞ്ഞു.
