Uddhava Sent to Vraja: Consolation to Nanda-Yaśodā and the Gopīs’ Separation

तमागतं समागम्य कृष्णस्यानुचरं प्रियम् । नन्द: प्रीत: परिष्वज्य वासुदेवधियार्चयत् ॥ १४ ॥

tam āgataṁ samāgamya kṛṣṇasyānucaraṁ priyam nandaḥ prītaḥ pariṣvajya vāsudeva-dhiyārcayat

ഉദ്ധവർ നന്ദമഹാരാജാവിന്റെ ഭവനത്തിൽ എത്തിയ ഉടനെ, നന്ദൻ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ സ്വീകരിക്കാൻ മുന്നോട്ട് വന്നു. ഗോപരാജാവ് അതീവ സന്തോഷത്തോടെ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ആലിംഗനം ചെയ്യുകയും സാക്ഷാൽ വാസുദേവനായി (കൃഷ്ണനായി) കണ്ട് പൂജിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.

Uddhava looked just like Nanda’s son Kṛṣṇa and gave pleasure to anyone who saw him. Thus although Nanda was absorbed in thoughts of separation from Kṛṣṇa, when he saw Uddhava coming toward his house, he became aware of external events and eagerly went out to embrace his exalted visitor.
