वशा माता राजन्यऽस्य वशा माता स्वधे तव । वशाया यज्ञ आयुधं ततश्चित्तमजायत

IAST Transliteration

vaśā́ mātā́ rā́janyàsyá vaśā́ mātā́ svadhé táva | vaśā́yā yájña ā́yudham tátas cittám ajāyata ||

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

Vasā is mother of the royal man; Vasā is mother of thee, O Svadhā. From Vasā the sacrifice is a weapon; from her, moreover, thought (and purpose) was born.

Translation

വശാ രാജന്യ (ക്ഷത്രിയ) പുരുഷന്റെ മാതാവാണ്; ഹേ സ്വധേ, വശാ നിന്റെ മാതാവും തന്നെയാണ്. വശയിൽ നിന്നാണ് യജ്ഞം ആയുധം (ശക്തി) ആയത്; അവളിൽ നിന്നുതന്നെ ചിന്തയും സംकल्पവും ജനിച്ചു.
