इत्य् आग्नेये महापुराणे नीराजनाविधिर्नाम सप्तषष्ट्यधिकद्विशततमो ऽध्यायः विशाखान्त्विति क , छ च अथाष्टषष्ट्यधिकद्विशततमो ऽध्यायः छत्रादिमन्त्रादयः पुष्कर उवाच छत्रादिमन्त्रान्वक्ष्यामि यैस्तत् पूज्य जयादिकम् ब्रह्मणः सत्यवाक्येन सोमस्य वरुणस्य च
ity āgneye mahāpurāṇe nīrājanāvidhirnāma saptaṣaṣṭyadhikadviśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ viśākhāntviti ka , cha ca athāṣṭaṣaṣṭyadhikadviśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ chatrādimantrādayaḥ puṣkara uvāca chatrādimantrānvakṣyāmi yaistat pūjya jayādikam brahmaṇaḥ satyavākyena somasya varuṇasya ca
ഇങ്ങനെ അഗ്നി മഹാപുരാണത്തിലെ ‘നീരാജനവിധി’ എന്ന ഇരുനൂറ്റി അറുപത്തേഴാം അധ്യായം സമാപ്തമായി (ചില പാണ്ഡുലിപികളിൽ ‘വിശാഖാന്ത’ എന്ന പാഠം കാണുന്നു). ഇനി ഇരുനൂറ്റി അറുപത്തെട്ടാം അധ്യായം—‘ഛത്രാദി മന്ത്രങ്ങൾ’ ആരംഭിക്കുന്നു. പുഷ്കരൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഛത്രം മുതലായ മന്ത്രങ്ങൾ ഞാൻ പ്രസ്താവിക്കും; അവയാൽ പൂജ്യമായ ആ ചിഹ്നങ്ങൾ വിജയം മുതലായ ഫലങ്ങൾ നൽകുന്നു—ബ്രഹ്മാവിന്റെ സത്യവചനബലത്താലും, സോമനും വരുണനും ഉള്ള ശക്തിയാലും കൂടി।
