Related Themes: Agni Purana 260 (domestic auspicious observances)
It teaches a specific mantra-prayoga and daily discipline: chanting “gavyeṣuṇe” morning and evening, coupled with gavām-upasthāna (reverential service to cows) to secure household prosperity and fertility-related benefits.
Alongside theology, the Agni Purana preserves practical, household-level ritual technologies—mantras, timings (prātaḥ/sāyam), and intended results (wealth in cattle, saubhāgya, garbha-lābha)—showing its coverage of lived religion and social wellbeing practices.
By attentive daily reverence to cows—treated as a sacred, merit-bearing act—the practitioner is said to accrue auspiciousness (saubhāgya), prosperity, and progeny-fruit, with benefits described as extending to both this life and the hereafter.
