അവയിൽ ക്ഷാരോദ (ഉപ്പുവെള്ള) സമുദ്രം, ക്ഷീരോദ (പാൽ) സമുദ്രം, ദധ്യുദ (തൈര്) സമുദ്രം, ഘൃതസാഗരം, ഇക്ഷുരസ സമുദ്രം, കാദംബരീ സമുദ്രം, സ്വാദുജല സമുദ്രം, മസ്തൂദ (മോര്/വേ) സമുദ്രം—ഇവയാണ് എട്ട് സമുദ്രങ്ങൾ।
