FAQs

Ayurvedic therapeutics (including veterinary application): preparing a medicinal bolus of bāla-bilva, lodhra, dhātakī, and sugar to treat atīsāra (diarrhea) in an elephant.

It preserves practical medical know-how—specific materia medica and dosage-form (piṇḍī/bolus)—showing the Agni Purana’s coverage extends beyond theology into applied health sciences, including animal care.

By promoting compassionate care and the alleviation of suffering through dharmic knowledge (vidyā), the instruction aligns with punya-generating conduct—supporting life and well-being as a righteous duty.
